This is a live recording at Jazzaar Festival 2015 in Aarau, Switzerland. The album highlights old classics by 20th century composers with a special honour to Billy Strayhorn for his worldwide centennial celebration that year. The music is specially arranged for this event by Jazzaar’s venerated arrangers such as Bob Freedman, Christian Jacob and Corey Allen. Special guest stars gracing the occasion were John Abercrombie (g), Igor Butman (ts), Ryan Quigley (Ltp), Antonio Hart (as), Tom Garling (tb), Jeremy Monteiro (p), Mike Richmond (acc.b) und Victor Lewis (d) who also functioned as role modelling coaches to the Swiss Youth Jazz Orchestra. The album introduces the young solo vocalist/bassist Sharon Renold.
